What are Scholarships, Discounts, and/or Grants?
A scholarship, discount, or grant is a sum of money or other aid granted to a student because of merit, need, or other reasons to pursue his or her studies. Unlike loans, this type of aid does not have to be repaid.
Federal and State Financial Aid
Federal Pell Grant
- Available exclusively to undergraduate students
- Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid – FAFSA
- Depends on your status as a full-time or part-time student
- Must have Financial Need base from the FAFSA
- Based on your cost of attendance and if you plan to attend the full year or less
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant - SEOG Grant
- Available exclusively to undergraduate students
- Requires exceptional Financial Need base on the FAFSA
- Priority given to Federal Pell Grant recipients
- Funds depend on availability
Ohio College Opportunity Grant – OCOG Grant
- Ohio Resident
- Financial need
- Undergraduate Student Only
Tiffin University Aid
Policy: “All eligible undergraduate students are required to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in order to receive any Tiffin University Aid. This includes but not limited to Academic Scholarships, Athletic Scholarships, Dragon Assistant Grant, Arts Scholarships, and Leadership Scholarships.”
Students are only eligible to receive ONE institutional scholarship/discount. All financial aid documents required for financial aid and all admissions documents required for admissions is required. Financial Aid will NOT disburse onto accounts until all final official documents are received.

Academic scholarships are awarded to full-time on-campus students during their first year or to transfer students. The amount awarded to a first year or transfer student is the amount they can continue to receive during their enrollment on-campus at Tiffin University. We do not move scholarship amounts up after the first year. This scholarship can not go toward bookstore charges.
Active Duty Tuition Rates
If you are currently active duty military, you are eligible for a reduced rate of tuition at Tiffin University. Students who receive this benefit are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University discounts/grants. Proof required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the tuition rate.

- $250 per credit hour for Undergraduate Bachelor Degree Students
- $325 per credit hour for Master Degree Students

Activity Scholarships:

Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (AICUO) Discount
Employees of AICUO member institutions will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Employees of these member insitutions must provide proof annually. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Doctoral degree program students - $150 per credit hour discount
Athletic Scholarships:

AVI Employee Discount
AVI Employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. A letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee must be provided in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Bachelor's Degree Discount
Individuals who already hold a bachelor's degree will receive a fifty percent discount of the tuition rate for on-campus undergraduate courses. Confirmation of the degree, in the form of an official transcript must be presented to the Office of Registration and Records before enrollment. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University Discounts.
The Chamber & Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership Discount
The Chamber & Tiffin-Seneca Economic Partnership member companies who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment or a copy of a current pay stub is required for proof annually.
- Master Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
- On-Campus Bachelor Degree Students: $200 per credit hour discount
Commodore Perry Member and Employee Discount
Commodore Perry members and employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Members must provide a current statement or letter from the credit union showing that you are a current member and employees must provide a letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee, in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.

- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Faurecia Discount
Faurecia employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. A letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee of Faurecia must be provided in order to receive this discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University discounts. Proof of employment is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
- On-Campus Bachelor Degree Students: $200 per credit hour discount
First Solar Discount
First Solar full-time employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. A letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee must be provided in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive other forms of Tiffin University discounts. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.

- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Fraternal Order of Police Scholarship:
A member and a spouse (Auxiliary Member) of the FOP will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Students must provide a copy of their FOP membership ID card to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Graduate Alumni Discount
Graduate students who obtained a bachelor’s and/or master's degree from Tiffin University are eligible for a $150 per credit hour discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible for any other Tiffin University discounts.
Graduate and Undergraduate students whose masters and/or bachelors degrees were obtained from Tiffin University, will be eligible to receive a $150 per credit hour discount toward the doctoral program for Ph.D. in Global Leadership and Change. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts.
Huntington National Bank Discount
Huntington National Bank employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Participants must meet academic requirements for admission and proof of employment from Huntington National Bank is required. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University discounts. Proof of employment is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.

International Modern Pentathlon Federation (UIPM)
UIPM athletes and coaches certified in their respective UIPM Programs, an UIPM employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Students must provide a copy of their membership/employment. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment/membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
- Master Degree/Certificate Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree/Certificate Students: $150 per credit hour discount
- On-Campus Bachelor Degree Students: $200 per credit hour discount

Legacy Scholarship
The Legacy Scholarship is for dependent children of a Tiffin University Alumni from our graduate or undergraduate program. The dependent student must be a full-time, on-campus, first-year or first-year transfer undergraduate student. Dependent students must maintain a 2.50 cumulative grade point average and fulfill admission requirements.
Los Angeles, CA County Employee Discount
Los Angeles, CA County Employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. A letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee or a copy of your current badge, must be provided in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Marathon Employee Discount
Marathon Employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. A letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee or a copy of your most recent pay stub must be provided in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Military Discount
Tiffin University will provide a military discount toward tuition to retired military, Veterans, Reservists, National Guard, and/or dependents of active duty (spouse/children). You must submit documentation in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University discounts. Proof required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Undergraduate Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount

Members of OFIC will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Members must provide proof of membership annually. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Doctoral degree program students- $150 per credit hour discount
Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (OPBA) Discount
Ohio Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association (OPBA) members who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount
Oriana House Discount
Oriana House, Inc. employees who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment or a copy of a current pay stub is required for proof annually.
- Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount

Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce Discount
Perrysburg Area Chamber of Commerce member companies who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment or a copy of a current pay stub is required for proof annually.
- Master Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
- On-Campus Bachelor Degree Students: $200 per credit hour discount
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Full time Undergraduate on-campus students who are a member of Phi Theta Kappa will be eligible to receive $500 per semester from Tiffin University. Members must provide a copy of their certificate.
SAGE Scholars Discount
SAGE Scholars will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. Participants must meet academic requirements for admission and proof of being a SAGE Scholar is required. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts.
Eligible students may receive the following:
- Master Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
Senior Citizen Discount
Those who are 60 years old or older may take courses for personal enrichment, and not for credit, for a fee of $25.00 for each course. Such enrollment is subject to availability of space and discretion of the University.
Speedway LLC Employee Discount
Speedway LLC Employees will be eligible to receive a discount towards tuition from Tiffin University. A letter from your HR department stating that you are an employee or a copy of your most recent pay stub must be provided in order to receive this discount. Students who receive this discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University's discounts. Proof of employment or membership is required annually to confirm continued eligibility of the discount.

Terra State Community College Discount
Terra State Community College employees and their dependents who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a tuition discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. A letter from your HR department certifying employment or a copy of a current pay stub is required for proof annually.
- Master Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $100 per credit hour discount

University Collaboration Discount
Eligible Employees and their spouses and children (according to the IRS definition of a qualifying child) of each institution below may benefit in a 25% tuition discount toward a respective master’s and/or doctoral degree programs. Participants must meet academic requirements for admission and proof of employment from the institution is required. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid.

WISE (Women in Sports and Events) Discount
WISE members who are accepted by Tiffin University and enroll in Tiffin University courses will receive a discount. Students who receive the tuition discount are not eligible to receive additional types of Tiffin University institutional aid. - Master Degree Students: $250 per credit hour discount
- Online and Extended Learning Bachelor Degree Students: $150 per credit hour discount

Other Scholarships:

Tuition Exchange, Inc. Scholarship Program
Individuals who are dependent undergraduate level students and whose parent(s) work for another college or university may be eligible to apply for the Tuition Exchange Scholarship. This scholarship application process must be initiated through the Tuition Exchange liaison at his/her sponsor college (parent's employer). The tuition award at Tiffin University is $27,780 for 2021-2022.
Tiffin University participates in two Exchange Programs: Tuition Exchange, Inc., and the Council of Independent Colleges Tuition Exchange Program. Tiffin University does not participate in the Tuition Exchange Programs for Graduate (Masters) or Doctoral (Ph.D.) Level programs.

To be considered for other types of financial aid, we recommend that you file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Students receiving a Tuition Exchange award are required to file the FAFSA.
